A Rear Gearbox Mount for the Toyota Hilux Pickup models listed between 1984 -1997 manufactured by RBI.
The rear gearbox mount fits from transfer box to the cross member and fits all the models listed in "Specs and Fitment".

The gearbox mount with its central restraining bolt has two rubber blocks either side, these can become detached from its metal counterparts which you can't always see, a good tip is to put a pry bar between the gearbox and cross-member to see it they have become debonded, perished or too soft usually caused by contamination from oil.
The gearbox mount acts as a rubber insulator and supports the back of the gearbox, it takes away the vibration generated by the engine and gearbox. When worn this vibration can be felt through the vehicle, also worth checking the engine mounts.

Do I need special tools to fit?
No, the mount is simply bolted to the bottom of the transfer bot with 4 bolts and then onto the cross-member, again with 4 bolts. You will need a jack to support the gearbox.

What is the large bolt in the middle of the mount for?
This is the straining bolt. Should, as often happens, the rubber blocks debond from the mounting plates then there would be nothing holding your gearbox at the rear resulting in obvious potential damage, this bolt is a safety measure for a failed mounting.
