Details

A new rear brake load sensing valve or often called the rear brake compensator valve or brake proportioning valve for the Toyota Hilux Pickup models KUN25 & KUN26 Without Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) fitted, manufactured by YSK.

Equivalent to OE part# 47910-0K020
It has the 3 pipe fitment going in and out of the valve.
Supplied as per our images and manufactured by YSK, comes with a new bleed screw.
Does not fit models with VSC - In our questions category we have some useful info on VSC to help.
This valve fits models without VSC that use the diagonal rod from valve to axle - our images help show this.

The valve is attached to the chassis mounting bracket usually with two nuts, from the bottom you attach your original diagonal rod (also called the spring) and rubber gaiter to the new valve.

Once fitted the complete brake system must be bled.

When a vehicle becomes loaded the rear axle weight increases, the diagonal linkage running from the axle up to the load proportioning valve acts by pressing in the valve plunger which in turn increases the brake bias to the rear. The result is more braking at the rear which enables increased traction at the tyres due to the extra loading being applied.

These valves are often found seized and usually only picked up on when it comes to the MOT.

How do I know if I have VSC or not?
If looking in the valve area at the rear of the chassis the easiest way to tell if you do not have VSC is that from the valve will be a diagonal rod attached to the base of the valve running down to the axle - this is a mechanically operated valve whereby when the vehicle is loaded the rod acts upon the valve and so proportioning the braking system - our images show the setup. This valve only fits models without the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

Models with VSC do not have this diagonal rod and only work on hydraulic pressure.

Do I have to bleed the valve once fitted?
Yes, the new valve comes with a new bleed screw, it may also be necessary to bleed the entire brake system.

Does the valve come with the mounting bracket?
No, the mounting bracket is a separate component, the valve is supplied as per the image we have taken. The bracket would have to come from your local dealership.
