A tried & tested Australian Pedders 40mm suspension lift kit complete with the coil over front struts all built up, fits Hilux Surf 185 models & Land Cruiser 90 series.
Whilst improving the vehicle's looks and handling, RoughTrax Pedders lift kit helps to prevent body roll in bends. Ideal for towing, off-road & on-road use whilst giving greater ground clearance allowing fitment of larger tyres.
Coil springs are uprated along with Pedders Heavy-duty twin tube design Gas shock absorbers all manufactured in Australia where they have been tried and tested in the outback terrain!
The larger piston shocks within this Pedders kit means it tends to give a slightly firmer ride than the Monroe / Pedders kit, in turn, performance tends to be more responsive in our opinion.
Fitting Tip - Only torque the lower shock bolt when the weight is back down on the vehicle - NOT when the suspension is hanging down.
With this kit, RoughTrax has taken the strain out of building up both handed front struts. With our coil compressing equipment, we've fitted the coil to the shock and aligned the new heavy-duty Pedders top mounting plates to the shock lower mounting ready for you fit, this means correct installation is made easy so in turn will definitely save you on Labour fitting costs.

The amount of lift can vary pending original vehicles bushes etc, below will provide you with a good idea of the ride height after installing the lift kit, from this you can determine the lift the kit will give you against your existing ride height. The vehicle will sit higher at the rear than the front as the front is limited by the ball joint and driveshafts.
Ride heights are taken from the bottom of the wheel rim vertically up to the wheel arch: -
Ride heights are provided from a standard model Hilux Surf KZN185 without any other modifications.
Wheel diameters will affect this ride height so we have provided dimensions with 2 common wheel sizes -
you can adjust dimensions by 12.5mm (1/2") accordingly if running different size wheels.
Front ride height: - bottom of rim up to arch: - usually a 10mm discrepancy
15" rims = 740mm
16" rims = 752mm
Rear ride height: - bottom of rim up to arch: - usually a 10mm discrepancy
15" rims = 775mm
16" rims = 787mm
(SWB 90 L/Cruisers may lift approx more at rear)

Q. Is there an adjustable rear Panhard rod available?
A. Unfortunately not from Pedders or any companies that we have dealt with in the past.
When any vehicle with a rear Panhard rod is lifted, the rod will pull the axle slightly to one side by approx 1/2", in order to overcome this (should you want too and most customers don't seem to worry about it) you will have to modify the Panhard rod yourself.
The main lower bush mounting bolt must only ever be tightened to its torque when, the vehicle is sat back down on the ground for example, i.e with the weight on.
If the bolt is tightened, for example on a ramp with suspension hanging, then when the vehicle is lowered and the weight applied, the bush is instantly twisted and of course, over time will crack and fail.
