A set of Original Genuine Toyota Rear Brake shoes with pull levers R90 approved, fits the Hilux Pickup late 2004 on KUN25 and KUN26 models as listed in the Specs and Fitment. 
The rear shoe set contains all 4 rear shoes, 2 for each side, these Toyota shoes also come with the hand brake pull levers attached.

About the shoe:
  • Kit contains 4 individual shoes to replace both rear brake drum sets, come bagged and boxed by Toyota.
  • 2 of the shoes come pre-fitted with the hand brake pull levers as per our images of the boxed product
  • Shoes are suitable for the common 295mm drum
  • Each shoe has a friction material of approx. 6.0mm, chamfered at each end.
  • The shoes also carry the manufacturer logo which for this application is actually TRW for Toyota so will carry their logo aswell as the Toyota stamping.
  • Our images are of the actual product.

These shoes are also perfect for those rare models that use the riveted on hand brake pull levers as these shoes come pre-fitted with levers

Do I need anything else to fit?
Not always, however, the brake fitting kit which contains clips and springs etc may be worthwhile as these can deteriorate with age, springs lose their spring tension, retaining cups and pins can corrode.
Brake Cleaner....a must when working on any brakes!! 

Anything else to look out for?
Always check the wheel cylinders for weeping by pulling back the rubbers and checking for fluid, any sign of fluid behind and the wheel cylinder and it's on its way out!
If you have oil leaking into the drum area and it's not the wheel cylinder then you could have a leaking rear inner axle seal, bearing or a blocked axle breather.
Check rear drums for cracking or wear.

What about adjustment?
Personally, I would always back the handbrake cable right off or even disconnect, check that all pivots are free and back off the self-adjuster to fit the new shoes. Once fitted and you are happy everything is operating as it should, refit the drums (Remove the wear ridge on the drum if necessary) and wheels, then with a flat screwdriver adjust the ratchet through the oval slot in the backing panel until you just feel the shoe rub the drum whilst spinning the wheel, this will give you a good feel of the shoe to drum clearance. 
Once you have set both rear shoes sets to the drums, refit the handbrake linkage and adjust up. Doing it this way ensures a good pedal and importantly a good handbrake.
