Millers Longlife CONCENTRATE Alpine Red Anti-freeze Coolant with OAT Technology - 5 Litres - designed to be diluted.

The Millers Anti Freeze is designed to be diluted with water for engine cooling systems in cars, vans, trucks and other heavy duty machinery with corrosion inhibitors and frost protection. Red in appearance it differs to the traditional blue mixture by increasing corrosion protection and durability.

The Millers Anti Freeze is designed to be diluted, ratio mix examples from Millers: (always consolt your manual)

25% by volume in water down to -12C
33% by volume in water down to -20C
50% by volume in water down to -40C

Offers a wide variety of applications due corrosion protection for multi metal and alloy materials, and compatibility with rubber and plastic materials commonly found in modern cooling systems.
Alpine Red will provide protection for up to 5 years.
Meets most European and International standards, conforms to BS 6580:2010.
Features OAT (organic acid technology) - OAT coolants offer extended service life, better protection for aluminum components, and improved resistance to hard water and inhibitor depletion.

OAT (organic acid technology) enables coolant systems to resist corrosion for longer periods and to a greater extent with typical usage periods up to 150,000 miles or 5 years, meaning fewer system changes.

The Millers anti freeze is free from:
Silicates
Nitrates
Amines
Borates
Phosphates
All of which ensure optimum composition and stability plus inherent foam control minimising scum presence.

Q. Why is coolant necessary?

A. It is vital otherwise the engine would overheat.

Combusting fuel inside an engine generates heat and mechanical energy. 30% of the heat and energy is used to propel the car forward, 33% is lost via the exhaust and the rest must be diverted away from the engine through the cooling and radiation system. The fluid filled cooling circuit transfers the heat from the engine to the radiator (heat-exchanger).

Q. What is coolant?

A. Water is the best heat transfer fluid and is easily available - but can cause many problems without coolant. The contains chemicals to both lower the freezing point and increase the boiling point. An additive is used to help protect against corrosion, cavitation and erosion. The coolant must also be compatible with the different materials within the cooling system. It is far better to add a coolant than risk the costly process of replacing or repairing the engine.
