Toyota Hilux KUN25 and KUN26 Pickups - Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly recall:
We’ve just received some useful information regarding a recall on certain Toyota Hilux KUN25 and KUN26 pickups.
Just to familiarize yourself below is an image of a Spiral Cable Sub-assembly:
It appears that certain batch Chassis numbers have experienced issues with the spiral Cables (fits behind the steering wheel) one fault is that it can result in the airbag dashboard warning lights coming on, although not all vehicles within the range are affected.
So far it appears that certain models between 2004 and April 2010 “could” be affected, the advice is to simply call your local dealer, give them your registration number and they will tell you if you are eligible for the recall.
We’ve noticed a couple of calls for Cable Sub-assemblies already so it's well worth giving your local dealer a call just to check... it may save you some money in the long-term!!
