A tried & tested Australian Pedders +45-50mm suspension lift kit for the Land Cruiser 120 series, used to convert air-suspension models to coils whilst lifting the Land Cruiser, what's more, we have pre-assembled front struts ready to bolt straight in!
The 120 Series Land Cruiser air suspension system can be an expensive fix should even a sensor or shock absorber fail, convert your air suspension or standard coiled suspension with this extended 45-50mm lift kit.
Whilst improving the vehicle's looks and handling, RoughTrax Pedders lift kit helps to prevent body roll in bends. Ideal for towing, off-road & on-road use whilst giving greater ground clearance allowing fitment of larger tyres.
Coil springs are uprated along with Pedders Heavy-duty twin tube design Gas shock absorbers all manufactured in Australia where they have been tried and tested in the outback terrain!
The larger piston shocks within this Pedders kit means it tends to give a slightly firmer ride, in turn, performance tends to be more responsive in our opinion.
Fitting Tip - Only torque the lower shock bolts when the weight is back down on the vehicle - NOT when the suspension is hanging down.
- As with all suspension shocks/coils supplied, paint is not covered under warranty due to the very nature and position of the component.
- Always ensure your front wheel alignment and geometry is checked after installation.
With this kit, RoughTrax has taken the strain out of building up both handed front struts. With our coil compressing equipment, we've fitted the coil to the shock and aligned the new heavy-duty Pedders top mounting plates to the shock lower mounting ready for you fit, this means correct installation is made easy so in turn will definitely save you on Labour fitting costs.

In our "Download" tab are Pedders complete detailed instructions to disable the air suspension electrics to ensure that no warning lights are displayed after fitment which is essential for MOT’s.
- Pedders Rear red coil insulators (EP8316/20) listed in the "General fitting guides" are NOT used with the rear lifted coils 7839 within this kit, instead we now include the Genuine Toyota Black insulators

What is air suspension?
Air suspension is made up of two air bags in the rear of the vehicle which is inflated by the air suspension compressor. A height sensor tells the control module that the vehicle needs to be raised. There are two electric gas shocks in the rear, as well in the front. Air suspension conversion kits eliminate the air suspension completely.
What ride quality can I expect?
This is a very subjective question, what one customer may feel is hard another finds great, especially with the original AHC systems and depending on where you had the vehicle set prior to having to replace it - If you ran in the softer settings then this kit is ideal.
What we would say, and as from a general feedback, is that the suspension is firmer, this is to help prevent body roll.
Can I replace just the rear springs?
No, the front shock struts are also electric. Removing the rear air bags and electrics will disable the front shocks too, therefore they must be replaced.
What are rear spring insulators?
Rear spring insulators are fitted to the top of the rear spring to position the spring into the correct position and act as a cushion. Air suspension models do not have the correct spring seating position without these insulators. We use the Genuine Toyota original black insulators on the lift kit LK019.
What is in the instructions that are complete with the kit?
The instructions contain the correct procedure to disable the electrics in the right way, otherwise you'll have a Christmas tree lit up on your dashboard which is a failure come MOT time.
Can I not just replace the rear suspension coils and shocks?
In short no, the system relies on the electronics to operate the shocks, simply fitting rear shocks and coils will also disable the fronts and you would have an unbalance suspension so all 4 shocks and coils should be replaced together as a kit when replacing the original air suspension.
Any tips?
The main lower bush mounting bolt must only ever be tightened to its torque when, the vehicle is sat back down on the ground for example, i.e with the weight on.
If the bolt is tightened, for example on a ramp with suspension hanging, then when the vehicle is lowered and the weight applied, the bush is instantly twisted and of course, over time will crack and fail.
For overseas customers, are there any Manufacturer's Certificate of Suitability or similiar with this kit?
I'm afraid not, this isn't a requirement for the UK market so we do not have such certifications available, please do bare this in mind before making any purchase.
